James (known as “Big Jim”) Francis Flewwelling passed into the arms of Jesus at Bastion Place, Salmon Arm on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the age of 75 years.
Jim was born in Drumheller, Alberta on May 19, 1946. Lived in Calgary, Hinton, Spruce Grove, Alberta and moved to Kelowna and to Salmon Arm in 1976. He graduated from Eston Bible College in 1966 and Cummins Diesel in Edmonton in 1970 consequently working as a heavy duty mechanic for Cummins in Edmonton and in Jim’s Esso in Kelowna, Interior Industrial & Truck in Salmon Arm, ran Custom Engine Rebuilders in Sicamous and eventually became shop foreman for School District 83 retiring in 2006.
In his retirement years he has restored and sold many a John Deere lawn tractor.
Predeceased by his parents, Russell Flewwelling and Elsie (Cross), brother, Brian in 2008; first wife, Evangeline (Neudorf) 2002; Jim is survived by his sister, Lois; second wife, Beverly Flewwelling (married June 25, 2005); daughters, Carlissa Dunn (Chris) and Patti George (John); stepchildren, David Neumann (Kathy) and Cheri (Tim) Antoniuk and 12 grandchildren, Izak and Jamin Dunn, Evangeline, Naomi and Charlotte George, Kelsey Antoniuk Pangan (John), Graydon Antoniuk, Chris Carlissa, Jayden, Ken and Daylin Neumann.
Jim was a big man with a big heart of love for all who knew him, especially many youth whose lives were changed because of his hugs and prayers – at “The Gate” in Salmon Arm, the Flewwelling home, Living Waters youth, many camps and Street Invaders.
