Troy Dean Tompkins

We hold Troy Dean Tompkins close in our hearts as we share the heartbreaking news of his passing on July 18, 2026, at the age of 54. Troy passed away while riding his motorcycle through Carmi, BC, surrounded by the beauty of the open road that brought him so much peace and happiness.

Troy was predeceased by his grandparents, Ken and Ruby Tompkins, and Bert and Betty Buchanan; his aunt and uncles, Bob, Carol, Paul, Terry, and Kelly; and his cousin, Uriah.

He was the cherished son of Rodney and Vickie Tompkins and brother to Drew. Thirty years ago, he married his loving wife, Tracy, and together they built a beautiful life, and had a daughter, Takara, who was the light of his world.

Alongside his immediate family, Troy leaves behind his beloved aunts and uncles: Andy, Val (John), Tim, Ken, Shirley, and Barb. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his cousins: Jess (Dave), Alex (Quelsey), Mark, Michael (Eric), Kim (Pascal), Heather, Ryan, Tanner (Angie), Trinity, Mark, and Sherry (Matt). Their children—Vinnie, Rafi, Andrew, Alex, Kaes, Milan, Esmay, Fox, Emery, Rowan, River, Blue, and Cole—held a special place in Troy’s heart. Their laughter, curiosity, and smiles brought him endless joy.

While Troy achieved many accomplishments throughout his career, his true legacy is the way he loved and cared for the people around him. He had a passion for woodworking, a deep love for dogs, a great sense of humour and an incredible work ethic. He was the kind of person who showed up whenever someone needed help. Whether you were family, a friend, a coworker, or a stranger, Troy never hesitated to lend a hand, share his knowledge, or give whatever he could. His generosity expected nothing in return.

He also found joy in the simple things—a clean truck ready for the next drive, time spent with those he loved, and the freedom of the open road.

There is comfort in knowing that Troy’s final ride was one of love and remembrance, taking part in an annual memorial ride to honor a dear friend. It was a tradition that meant a great deal to him and one he looked forward to each year.

As we begin to navigate life without him, our family is deeply grateful for the overwhelming love, kindness, and support shown by the Revelstoke community and beyond. Every message, visit, meal, hug, and shared memory has reminded us just how many lives Troy touched and how deeply he was loved.

A celebration of Troy’s life will be held at Revelation Lodge at Revelstoke Mountain Resort on August 29th from 3-6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Troy’s memory. The greatest way to honor Troy is to carry forward the kindness, generosity, and compassion that he shared so freely throughout his life.
