Timothy John Helle

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Timothy John Helle on July 13, 2025, in Enderby, British Columbia, at the age of 70.

Born on January 5, 1955, in Calgary, Alberta, Tim had a sweet and gentle presence and a brilliant mind. Tim had a deep love for music—especially playing his guitar—and for the land. He had an incredible sense of direction and could find his way through any place with ease. He loved to travel the world, especially with Janice, whether near or far, but Saskatchewan always held a special place in his heart.

His younger years were spent in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. After completing High School at Collège Mathieu in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, he went on to study linguistics at the University of Ottawa and at the University of Saskatchewan majoring in French and minoring in Spanish. Tim was a lifelong learner, even in the last months of his life when he was learning German.

Tim worked hard most of his life. His professional life took him across the prairies in the oil industry, beginning in Kindersley and Kerrobert SK. After 30 years growing up, getting married to Janice in 1980, and starting their family in SK they moved to and spent 30 years in AB working in Cochrane, Peace River, and Lacombe AB. He was known for his intelligence, dedication and quiet leadership.  He retired and moved to the beautiful Shuswap BC in 2015 where they built a house in the country.

Tim loved his wife and daughters beyond measure and took great joy in being a grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife Janice, his daughters Sara Summerfield (Cody) and Tanya Helle (Kat Kaboly), and his cherished grandchildren: Kiren, Kenzie, and Dexten Summerfield, and Benjamin and Avery Kaboly-Helle.

He was predeceased by his mother, Jeanne Helle, whom he held dear and brother Preston Helle and sister Tinker Ledene and cousin Debbie Ledene.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Church in Salmon Arm, BC. All who knew and loved Tim are welcome to attend and share in remembering a life well lived.

Tim’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the stories he told, and the music he played. He will be deeply missed.
