Tanis Sunnie Lambert
Beloved Daughter of Lorne and Deborah (Deb) Vance
With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved daughter Tanis Sunnie Lambert. Her long-term battle with Trauma and Multiple Sclerosis led to her passing.
Tanis was a shining light in our lives. Her passions included horse equestrian riding, swimming, sailing, skiing, cooking and especially caring for animals. Tanis’s bright smile, big heart, and innate ability to illuminate any room were her defining traits. She was deeply cherished by her family and friends and known for her significant organizational skills. She leaves a legacy of kindness and compassion, particularly for the voiceless and vulnerable. In her professional life she showed the same enthusiasm and passion in her various endeavors including running her event management company and latterly teaching.
Tanis was a people magnet who gathered lifetime friends wherever she travelled around the world from Shanghai to Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Mexico, Cuba, and Hawaii. Her home was always open to accommodate friends and family who were in need or who simply wanted to visit.
Tanis is survived by her loving parents, Lorne and Deb Vance and a wide circle of extended family and friends who deeply mourn her passing including, her stepmother, Elizabeth Lambert, her brother Theodor (Teddy) Lambert, great aunt Ann Lisinski, uncle Lawrence (Larry) Short, her cousins Richard, Megan, Zachary, and Madeline Short, Melanie, Stephen and Emily Botham. Elizabeth Castle and Dusty and Kelly Sampert aunt Janet Dunnington Wright, her cousins Kristen Wright, Alexandra Prefontaine-Wright, Her chosen sisters, Gail Bentley, Michelle Gagnon, Virginia Petre, Carrie Sharp, and her first love David Harwood, her chosen brother Stuart Harwood and the entire Harwood family as well as others
who loved her and miss her dearly.
Tanis is predeceased by her father John Stephen Lambert who she watched the Calgary Flames with every game, and Geraldine Short her beloved aunt, grandmother Cynthia Davis, grandfather John (Jack) Lambert, and great uncles George McMahon and Max Bell. Tanis known as Sunnie Bear, passed away on December 13, 2023 in Salmon Arm BC.
