It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tammi MacAulay, 57, on February 7th, 2026.
Tammi was born in San Francisco on October 14th, 1968. Tammi grew up in the Bay Area, loving to spend time with her extended family and making many close friendships that she maintained throughout her life. In 1987, Tammi met her husband to be, Rob MacAulay, at UBC where they fell in love, developed more lifelong friendships, moved to California, got married and then moved to Salmon Arm, BC. There they once again met more great friends and lived happily until her passing.
Tammi was a much-beloved computer science teacher and teacher-librarian for the school district for many years. She loved many things including being on the water, listening to music, Halloween, traveling, gardening, yoga, Pilates, the 49ers, and her dogs. But she particularly loved spending time with her family and friends where she was always laughing and having fun. She was lucky enough to spend the month of December visiting her brother, sister, nephews, nieces and grandnieces in the San Francisco Bay Area where she could dote on the younger generations.
Tammi was predeceased by her father Robert Smith, her mother Janice Duzac, and her stepdad Rene Duzac. She is survived by her husband; brother Kurt (Kim) Smith; sister Robin Pizza; nieces Gabrielle (Andy) McCloud, Jordan Smith, Adrianna Pizza; nephews Carlo Soto, Antonio Soto, Jorge Soto, Jonathan Smith, Taitum MacAulay; grandnieces Mavis McCloud, Marlo McCloud; mother-in-law Marjorie MacAulay and many other relatives and in-laws.
Tammi’s Canadian Celebration of Life will be held on June 6th at The Gathering Place in Salmon Arm at 11:00 a.m. Another Celebration of Life will be held in California on April 18th at a still to be determined time and place.
The many people who love you, Tammi, will miss your laughter and love of life for the rest of our lives.
