Stewart Stirton Obituary

Stewart Malcolm “Stew” Stirton passed away at Mt. Cartier Court Extended Care, Revelstoke on Saturday, March 6th, 2021 at the age of 79 years. There will be no formal funeral service.

Stew was born in Edmonton, Alberta on July 1, 1941 and had been a resident of Revelstoke for the past seven years. He was an avid remote-control plane enthusiast and built as well as flew his own planes. Stew also enjoyed reading and watching sports on TV. He loved all sports, including hockey.

Stew was predeceased by his wife Noella in 2013. He is survived by eight children: Bonnie (Stan) Thiessen of Revelstoke, David (Caroline) Stirton of Edmonton, Bill (Sherry) Stirton of Kamloops, Laura (Tim) MacDonald of Winnipeg, Peter (Diane) Stirton of Vancouver, Lynda (Guy) Krocker of Shawnigan Lake, Sandi (Randy) McMurphy of Vancouver and Mike Stirton of Calgary; numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
