Stephen Jerry Hook, 59, of Spallumcheen, BC passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, September 21, 2026.
Steve was born in McBride, BC and was the second of three children of Jerry and Beth Hook. Steve leaves behind his beloved soulmate and wife, Lynne Hook, his beautiful daughter Laurel Sale-Hook (Joel), parents Jerry and Beth Hook, brothers Doug Hook (Susan, Spencer, Caitlyn) and Jeff Hook (Laurie Nesdoly, Kyra Wittkopf) and his in-laws, Ray and Chris Partridge, Audrey Partridge (Haley), Kathy and Robert Groeger (Daniel).
Steve has always been a peacemaker. He would drop anything if it meant helping out friends or family. He loved life and all the adventures it brought with he and his partner-in-crime, Lynne - who he shared an unmatched mutual love with. Steve always beamed of pride speaking of his daughter Laurel's accomplishments and he always celebrated her globetrotting adventures. Steve surrounded himself with devoted and genuine friends that he cherished spending time with.
Steve was a builder, a creator and a true inspiration. Whether it was his love of pottery, photography, or building his own camping trailer from scratch, there wasn’t anything Steve couldn’t create. Steve and Lynne had just found their forever home and had started their transformation of this space into their own when Steve was taken from all of us. His memory and legacy live within the warm and welcoming home he created for the love of his life and in all the wonderful memories he created with family and friends throughout his life’s journey.
Steve left us too soon. But he always managed to make sure our hearts were full of his love. This time was no different. Steve will always be with us.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation (heartandstroke.ca) on behalf of Steve.
