Sonia Larson

Sonia Larson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 18th, 2023, at Mount Cartier Court, Revelstoke B.C. Sonia was born on October 17th, 1938, in Lamont, AB, raised on her parents farm a few miles away on the North Saskatchewan River. She lived there with her parents William, Mary and her siblings Frank, Frances, Harold and David until she finished high school. She moved to Revelstoke and lived with her aunt while working at the Royal Bank and Mannings Restaurant when she met Rollie and started their family.

Sonia was a competitive sports woman who enjoyed Ladies fastball, bowling and even Loggers Sports. She was a member of the Revelstoke Art Group for many years and had an artistic flair. She painted murals on parade floats for the Loggers Sports Club, Columbia River Days and made snow sculptures for the Revelstoke winter carnival. She was a volunteer at Moberly Manor and worked there for many years.  Sonia was a steward of her community who gave her time and talent freely and gladly.  Sonia was a true partner in business with Rollie for 30 years at Fish River Contracting.

Sonia leaves behind; two sons: Derek (Anna) Larson, grandsons Matthew and Thomas, granddaughter Sophie; Bart (Tracey), granddaughter Zoe; her daughter Lisa (Alan) and grandson Sam. Sonia is survived by her brother Harold and her sister, Frances. Sonia was predeceased by her husband Rollie, her parents; William and Mary, and brothers David and Frank.

A private celebration of life is planned for family and friends.
