Shirley Marlene Schubert passed away suddenly at home June 12, 2025 while recovering from a recent surgery. Shirley was born in Vernon, BC on April 18, 1948, the only child of George and Elsie Sedor. Shirley was pre-deceased by her husband Harry in 2005.
Shirley leaves behind five sons, 11 grandchildren and one niece; Kurt (spouse Etsuko), Dean (spouse Julie), Mark (spouse Krystal, children David, Evan, Paul), Dusty (spouse Elina, children Brendan, Jenna Lynn, Noah, Ryder), Randy (children Makayla, Aiden, Zoë, Gavin) and niece Tracy (spouse Doug).
Shirley was kept busy following the lives of her many grandchildren and enjoyed having family and friends over to the family home for dinners. Shirley enjoyed gardening, travel (especially her trips to Hawaii) and taking care of many pets on the farm over the years.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 12:30 pm at Bowers Funeral Service in Salmon Arm, BC. If you would like to view Shirley in her casket, you can arrive at 12:00pm. Interment at Mount Ida Cemetery following the service.
