Shaun Lorraine Berkholtz passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 30, 1957, in Williams Lake, British Columbia to Kathleen Messom and Robert Eglin. Shaun was one of eleven children and grew up in Quesnel, BC, where she formed lifelong friendships and strong family ties.
In 1993 Shaun moved to Mable Lake in Enderby, B.C where she raised her 3 children and met her future husband, Harold.
In 2006, Shaun married Harold Berkholtz, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and community. She was the proud and devoted mother of Kyle Reierson, Nikki Reierson (Mel Washtock), and Candi Digness (Brad Digness). She also lovingly embraced her stepchildren, Chris Berkholtz (Bev) and Jill Ploegman (Paul).
Shaun's greatest joy was being a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren Emily Washtock, Quinten Washtock, Owen Digness, and Azriel Ploegman, and cherished every moment spent with them.
Throughout her life, Shaun generously gave her time to her community. She was an active volunteer and a valued member of her local sewing club. Quilting was her true passion, and she poured her creativity and love into every piece she made. Many family members and friends will treasure the beautiful quilts she created for years to come.
Shaun will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and family traditions that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends.
A gathering to celebrate Shaun’s life will be held at the Enderby Seniors Citizens Society on Saturday, February 21st, 2026, at 2:30 pm.
