Sharon May Chapple (McLean)
It is with sad and broken hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our Mum, Sharon May Chapple (McLean), on September 20, 2026.
Mum was born on February 18, 1948, to John and Adeline McLean in Regina, Saskatchewan. Eventually, the family moved further west, and Mum grew up in Burnaby, B.C., with her sister Donna and baby brother Brian.
Mum was a shy and quiet girl right until her very last day. Pretty in every way, she was gentle, thoughtful, and full of love for her family.
In high school, she met her forever love, Norman, whom she married in 1968. Together they had us, Martin, Stacey, Rob and Chris.
Mum and Dad had a companionship that was envied by others. Together for more than 60 years and married for 58, they built a life and a family that meant everything to them. Life took them from the Lower Mainland to Revelstoke, down to Crescent Beach/White Rock, and eventually to Coldstream where they spent their last years together.
Family was everything to our cute little Mum. She loved her grandchildren more than anything, having a special and unique relationship with each of them. Even when they were far away, they were always close to her heart. Their pictures adorn the walls of their home, a constant reminder of the people she loved most.
Our pretty little Mum was predeceased by both of her parents, her infant sister Patricia, her two grandsons Daniel Jordan and Kristian Jaymes.
Left to miss her until we meet again are her husband and best friend, Norman; her children, Martin (Marie-France) and their children Mara and Bram; Stacey and her children Joel (Domenica) and Lainey (Nolan); Rob (Jennifer) and their children Nolan and Danyka; and Chris and his children Evan, Elliot and Robynn and Robynn’s mother Raine.
She will also be deeply missed by her sister Donna Dandenault and brother-in-law Don; her brother Brian McLean and sister-in-law Kim , her nieces and nephew Cindy, Michelle, Jennifer, Meagan and Cale along with their spouses and children. Mother-in-law Ethel Chapple; and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lindsey and Melvin Russell and sister-in-law Nancy Chapple.
We will miss her sweet smile, her thoughtful gifts (she never forgot a birthday or anniversary) her beautiful handwriting and the wonderful sense of humour that not everyone who knew her got to see.
We have laughed many laughs and cried just about as many tears with her over the years. We will miss her more than words can say, and we will never forget her love.
Special thanks to the staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital for their care and compassion, it was immeasurable.
We weren’t ready to say goodbye to her, but we had to.
Until we meet again Mum ♥️
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Revelstoke Alliance Church. Reception to follow.
