Our beloved Ronald George Myers passed away on January 14th, 2023. Ron was born in Vernon B.C. to Helen and Joseph Myers on August 5th, 1939.
He is survived by his wife Irene Myers (née Catt) of 58 years, his children Vincent Myers and Rhonda (Eric) Cizeron, and his grandchildren Chloé and Gray Cizeron.
Ron, “Smiley”, worked in the trucking and forest industries and owned RG Myers Trucking company in Golden, B.C. He loved to be at the helm of many modes of transportation: in the forest, on the water and up in the skies. He cared for his community where he resided for more than 50 years. Ron was a committed volunteer dedicating many years to the Provincial Emergency Program with Air Search and Rescue and to the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association. He was also a driver and attendant for the Golden Ambulance Service. Ron was a talented woodworker and shared his creations with many family and friends. Above all else, Ron adored his family. He was known as a loving and devoted husband to Irene and proud father to Vince and Rhonda and to his son-in-law Eric. He was an extra proud grandpa to Chloe and Gray.
Ron was predeceased by his six brothers and one sister and will be missed by many nieces and nephews and other family members. Ron leaves this world knowing he was deeply loved by so many.
A special thank you to the nurses and Doctor Chiles at Golden Hospital, for their excellent care of Ron.
Ron’s family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 18th, at 1 pm. This event will take place at the Golden Senior Centre.
Donations to Golden Search and Rescue would kindly be appreciated in lieu of flowers, https://golden.vr-sar.org/www.golden.vr-sar.org/donate.
