Ron passed away peacefully with family by his side on July 29, 2024 at the age of 81. Ron is predeceased by his Mother Margaret, Father Walter, younger sisters Patty, Jackie (Rion) and his best friend and dog Beau. He leaves behind his longtime partner Jackie Hazelton, son Christopher, son Shane (Tanya), dog Katie, sister Lorraine (Sam Cusani), sister Betty Anne (Bailey), nephew Kyle Rion, great nephew Hudson Rion and many more extended family including Melanie and Randy Cyr and their son Austin who called Ron Grandpa, as well as many friends and neighbors.
Ron was a long time resident of Port Moody where he built his home in 1968 with the help of his Father Walter. He worked for Safeway for 46 years until the age of 61 when he retired. In 1995 he built his retirement home in Scotch Creek, BC, where he has resided since 2004. He became a volunteer Fire Fighter in his retirement for the Scotch Creek Fire Department for 10 years, where he was awarded Fire Fighter of the year in 2013. Ron loved to fish, tend to his garden, loved having happy hour, welcoming all guests to his home and playing cards nightly with his beloved Jackie.
Many thanks to the wonderful Doctors and Nurses at Salmon Arm Hospital. In lieu of flowers please donate to the BC Cancer Society.
Ron has requested to not have a service.
