Roger Joseph Meunier was born February 26, 1942 in Edmonton Alberta and passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025 in Salmon Arm BC. Roger is predeceased by his parents, and brothers Lee and Robert. He is survived by his sister Giselle and her daughters Vivian, Marta and Mona, as well as granddaughter Taylor, and his loving wife Clare.
Raised in New Westminister, BC, Roger graduated from Lester Pearson High School in 1960, then obtained his B.A at UBC in 1965
Roger was initially employed for a few years by Eatons Department Store In Montreal then returned to BC and began his new role as a career counsellor. Following stints in Fort St. John, North Vancouver, Smithers and Campbell River, Roger eventually settled in Salmon Arm for the long haul until the lure of early retirement enticed him to swap the pen for a fishing rod. Even so, he willingly shared his free time working with the Property Assessment Review Panel for several years and became a committed volunteer with Search and Rescue in it’s initial stages for many years.
A celebration of Life will be held at Bowers Funeral Home on April 12, 2025 @11a.m with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rogers Memory may be made to Search and Rescue Salmon Arm or Shuswap Community Foundation
