Robert Arthur Parker

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Arthur Parker on Friday August 18, 2023, at Queen Victoria Hospital in Revelstoke BC.  Rob dealt with many health challenges in his life, and he died courageously with his family by his side.

Rob was born on June10, 1956 in Queen Victoria Hospital and was a long-time resident of Revelstoke.  He was a kind and caring person who would always have a smile for everyone he met. In his earlier years he worked for CP Rail and often spoke fondly of those days, especially how important his job was as a conductor. He later did landscaping and grounds maintenance in Revelstoke, including the Golf course and Revelstoke Equipment Rentals. He was always ready to help any member of the community, especially senior citizens, with yard work or snow removal. 

Rob was a devoted and loving son, father, grandfather and brother who loved spending time with his family. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed riding his motorcycle and ATV in the backcountry as his health permitted.

Rob is predeceased by his Father; Douglas Parker and Mother; Frances Parker of Revelstoke.  He is survived by his daughter Bonnie Parker, granddaughters Kyra (Roger) and Ivy all of Calgary and his 5 siblings; Larry (Loni) Parker of Revelstoke, Deborah (Brian) McGovern, Sharon Parker, Joan (Doug) DeCock and Jack Parker all of Kelowna, BC, his Uncles Sid (Lillian) Parker, Gordon (Janet) Parker, Aunts Lucille (Nolan) Stringer, Stella Weeks and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Many thanks to the staff at Moberly Manor who took such good care of him. Thanks also to Doctor Brown and Doctor Molder and the nurses at Queen Victoria Hospital for Rob’s compassionate care over his last days.

There will be no formal funeral service. Family members will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
