Robert Douglas Mathieson

It is with profound sadness we share the passing of Robert Douglas Mathieson on July 2, 2023 at the age of 63.

Robert was born on March 21, 1960. He was a lifelong resident of Canoe and the Salmon Arm area.

Robert was a skilled faller and had a lifelong career in the forestry industry. Robert loved nature, including camping, fishing, hunting, wildlife, and wildflowers (a favorite was lady slippers). He had numerous hobbies, including rock hounding and gardening, and was known to have a green thumb.

Robert enjoyed boxing and UFC matches, but you never wanted to sit too close to him as he had some of his own impressive moves!

Robert will be remembered for his work ethic, kindness, and generosity.

He will be sadly missed by his sons Shawn, Colton (Angela); and Kessa Arishen Koff (Paul) and close friend Charleen Smith; sister Shelley; brothers Alex (Betty) and Bryan Kohare (Leslie); as well as his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other friends and family.

He was predeceased by his grandparents Alex and Nellie Mathieson and Gladys and Rollie Hakes; parents Alex W. Mathieson and Lois Kohare; stepfather Ernie Kohare; brother-in-law Robert Billick; cousin Clayton Kavalinas and numerous uncles and aunts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Canoe Senior Centre on September 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
