Ritva Niinikoski

Ritva Anneli Niinikoski passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, at the age of 87.

Ritva was born in 1938 in Soanlahti, Finland. She immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1967 and later moved to Salmon Arm in 1969. A dedicated and compassionate nurse, she served at Salmon Arm General Hospital until her retirement in 2001.

Ritva found great joy in gardening, nature, reading, and her beloved pets. In her later years, she also enjoyed dragon boat racing. She spent her final years at Hillside Village.

She was predeceased by her husband, Pentti Niinikoski.

Ritva will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her daughters, Nina (Kevan) Ross of Nanaimo, BC, and Anna (Ed) Quan of Calgary, AB; and by her cherished grandchildren, Bailey Ross, Jordan (Dean) Short, Brooke Ross (Adam Streichsbier), and Ventti Quan.

Her loyalty, compassion, and generosity leave an imprint on all who knew her.
