In Loving Memory of Reginald Gordon Malfred Broughton
January 23, 1937 – February 22, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Reginald Gordon Malfred Broughton on February 22, 2025, at the age of 88.
Reg will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his children: Nels (Susan) From, Earl (Linda) From, Frank Broughton, and Jim (Theresa) Broughton; his eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Inez; daughters Linda and Kelly Ann; his brother Frank; sisters Margaret and Norma; and parents Frank and Lillian.
Born on January 23, 1937, in New Denver, B.C., Reg led a rich and varied life. He married Inez on December 5, 1970, and together they raised their family in the Slocan Valley, Churchill Falls, Vancouver, and Revelstoke. Once their children were grown, Reg and Inez returned to New Denver to manage the New Denver Golf Course Restaurant, before settling again in Revelstoke.
Reg was a man of many talents—musician, mechanic, woodworker, artist, and more. He had an enduring passion for fishing, spending countless joyful hours on Slocan Lake with Inez. The two shared a love of dancing, having first met on the dance floor, where they moved together in perfect harmony.
Reg’s zest for life was infectious. Whether camping with friends like Jerry, Jeanie, Bud, and Edye, or sharing a story or a laugh, he brought joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories to all who knew him. His creativity, warmth, and love for people left an indelible mark on every life he touched.
A celebration of life will be held on June 28th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Revelstoke Senior Citizen’s Association Center, 603 Connaught Avenue, Revelstoke, BC.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke, B.C.
