Randy Anne Pierzchala (nee Kinnear) slipped away peacefully on March 9, 2026, after a long battle with dementia. Predeceased by beloved husband, Gary John Pierzchala, her parents William (Bill) and Janet (Nettie) Kinnear, and her ‘little brother’ Peter Kinnear. She is survived by sister Janice Reeve (Bob) of Coleman, AB and her sons Stephen (Samantha) and their children Cameron and Kinnear, David (Christina), Mark (Kallie) and their children Jake (Nikki) and Elijah. She was affectionately known to her grandchildren as “Grandy”.
Randy, born in Coleman, AB Sept 5th, 1945, had fond memories of growing up in the Crowsnest Pass community, including her time with Job’s Daughters. It was in the Pass that she met the love of her life, Gary Pierzchala. Together they raised a family and built a life in Golden, BC and Golden is where Randy chose to stay after Gary’s passing and her boys moved away. She took pleasure in a quiet life with her cats and dogs and was an avid reader and CBC listener. Her love of books prompted her to take over Golden Books for a few years. She was a proud member of the Kinettes for many years and served in a volunteer capacity on both the Golden Hospital board and the College of the Rockies board. Until her later years she enjoyed hiking and walking and could often be found walking one of her beloved miniature schnauzers along the dike. The ‘ladies’ lunch group was a highlight for many years.
Her family is eternally grateful for the compassionate care and support Randy received, first at Mountainview Lodge and then at Durand Care Home.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Golden Public Library, a source of support and joy to Randy.
