Perry passed away peacefully at home, with family by his side. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Lillian Phillips, and his brother Jim and sister-in-law Louise, and his brother-in-law Gordon Schindler. He is remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife, Beth; his brother Vic (Candy); his sister Wendy Schindler; and sister Elaine Borstel; in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Perry was well known in the Shuswap community due to his work at Krazy Eddies, Crowns Electronics, and his recent business of 15 years, Shuswap Fire and Safety. His greatest love, besides family and friends, was playing golf, and he was a member of the Salmon Arm Golf Course for many years. He loved to cheer on his favorite sports teams and read books and watch documentaries on science, history, and flying. Both Perry and Beth enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean five times, trips to Reno and Las Vegas, and back home to Brownsburg, Quebec, to see extended family and view his old family home.
Perry was a well-loved and respected man, generous with his time in helping others, and possessed a wonderful sense of humor. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring; the details are to be announced at a later date. He requested that, in lieu of flowers or donations made in his name, everyone try to pass on kindness to others in our community.
A special thank you to Dr. Chris Main and his angels at the oncology department, Dr. Keith and Laura Hepburn, Erika, Jen, and Krista from Interior Health, as well as the rest of the staff at Interior Health.
A Celebration of Perry's Life will be held on Saturday, April 18th, at 1:00pm at the Elks Hall (3690 - 30th St NE, Salmon Arm, BC.)
Capreece Bowers will be officiating the celebration. If anyone would like to say a few words or share a memory, please e-mail Capreece: capreece@capreecebowers.com
