We are saddened to announce the passing of Peter Kimmel on January 3, 2025, in Revelstoke BC. Peter was born in Vancouver on December 30, 1950.

In 1975 he started a job with Parks Canada doing avalanche control in Rogers Pass. Later on, he created his own company (Incline Research and Control Ltd) doing Avalanche Control and Avalanche Assessments for different organizations and movie productions.
Peter was honored with a lifetime membership from the Canadian Avalanche Association. He taught many AST 1-2 Avalanche courses. He was also a member of Revelstoke Search and Rescue.
Peter was a friendly and gentle person who was always ready to help others. In his last years his greatest love and joy was to be around his two granddaughters Estee and Alice.
