Patricia Abbott age 86, passed away in her sleep on February 21st, 2025, while living at Henry M. Durand Manor in Golden, BC.
She was born in Long Beach, California, which she called home until meeting Chuck (Charles) Abbott while on a Caribbean cruise. A romance blossomed right away and following a long-distance relationship, they married in September 1971. Pat and her daughter Frances made the move to Golden to join Chuck and his children Jeff and DeeAnn.
As well as raising 3 busy children, Pat worked at the Bank of Montreal, helped Chuck to manage & maintain their 2 multi-family rental buildings and build & operate Mountain Shadows Mobile Home Park.
Pat enjoyed the strong friendships formed while volunteering with the Golden Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, which supports Cancer Research and the making of Cancer Dressings. She was also involved with the Golden Chapter of the Red Hat Society, again enjoying the camaraderie of like-minded women.
In the early 1980’s again Pat moved with Chuck, this time to his home town of Vernon, BC, where they enjoyed Kalamalka lakesides living. Visits with family and friends filled their days, then later grandchildren brought them even more joy.
Pat remained in Vernon after Chuck unexpectedly passed away, until early 2021 when she moved back to Golden, to be near Frances.
She is lovingly remembered by her children; Frances (Terry) Franson, Jeff (Lisa) Abbott and DeeAnn (Doug) Abbott. Grandchildren; Alysha (Amol) and Robynn Natalie (Collin), Lindsay, Dylan and Logan Danielle (Steve) and Heather Great Grandchildren; Alden, Islena and Afton, Thomas, Isabella and Lucas
Honouring Pat’s wishes, there won’t be a funeral service.
