It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nora Ruth Ginn nee (Schmidt), who peacefully passed away on July 29,2025, at the age of 87, a long-time resident of Salmon Arm, BC.
Ruth was born on May 30,1938 at Herbert, Saskatchewan to Carl and Delia Schmidt. The family farmed in Saskatchewan and Alberta then in 1954 moved to Salmon Arm, BC and began farming there.
Ruth was known for her calm, hard-working personality, love of gardening, classical music and unwavering love for her family. She is predeceased by her loving husband, George Ginn, and sisters, Georgia, Edith, Alana and brother Clifford.
She is survived by her brother Steve Schmidt of Salmon Arm, BC and sister, Esther Bergen of Oyama, BC. She is also survived by her 8 children, Cathy(Kelly) Giesbrecht, Harrogate, BC, Matthew(Sandra) Ginn, Golden, BC, Marion(Gary)Fischer, Nanaimo, BC, Nancy(Jim) Adams, Edmonton, Alberta, Dan(Elise) Ginn, Enderby, BC Sarah(Richard) Brodland, Enderby, BC, Heather Ginn, Salmon Arm, BC, Tim(Christine), Ginn, Enderby, BC and her 19 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren
A funeral service will be held on August 21, 2025, at 1:30 pm at Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm, BC
