It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Ray Eidse, who passed away on June 7, 2025, in Armstrong, British Columbia, at the age of 57.
Mike was born on May 27, 1968, in Edmonton, Alberta, and was adopted at infancy by his loving parents, Aaron and Gladys Eidse. He grew up in Heart Valley, Alberta, where he began his career in the autobody industry, working alongside his father. His brother, Ken, also worked with him in the autobody business and was always looking out for him.
Mike later moved to Enderby, BC, where he continued his work. He was married to the late Pamela Maillet, who was an integral part of his life, providing unwavering support in his business decisions and spiritual encouragement.
Mike was a character known by everyone, and everyone knew Mike. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back and always had a story to tell. Mike could hardly sit idle; there was always something that needed doing. He cherished his two Pomeranians, Jasper and Ruby, whom he loved dearly and walked daily.
Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pamela; his parents, Aaron and Gladys; his parents-in-law, George and Abbie Phifer; and his siblings, Allen, Olive, and Ken.
He is survived by his daughter Mandy, and her husband, Mike Morad, of Vernon, BC; his son Jamie Maillet, of Vernon, BC; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his sister, Sharon, and her husband, Stan Isaac, of Neilburg, SK; his sister, Sylvia, of Enderby, BC; his sister-in-law Judy, of Grande Prairie, AB; his brother-in-law, Greg Fraser, of Hythe, AB; and many nephews and nieces.
The family extends a special thank you to his sister Sylvia, who was always worrying about him and ensured a seven-layer salad was always there to be devoured. Mike was also fortunate to connect with the Reimers, who provided enduring support for both his work and life in general; a huge thank you from everyone to them.
A memorial service to celebrate Mike's life will be held in the fall of 2025, with details to be announced at a later date.
