It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Maurice Gravelle in Blind Bay, British Columbia, on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the age of 87.
Survived by his loving wife Pauline and his children Ray (Debra), Ron (Laura), Rose, Lissa and Linda and his grandchildren Ian (Lisa), Justin, Tyler (Becky), Joelle (Matt), Jamie (Matt), Emily (Ben), D.J., Megan, Ethan and Jacob. His great grandchildren Brooklyn, Parker, Beckett, Isla, Kellen, Colson, Logan, Cohen, Cade, and Theo. Siblings Roland (Alice), Gerard (Suzanne), Lorraine (late Phil), Marcel (Margaret), Yvon (Denise), Jeanette (Gilles), predeceased by his sister Yvonne.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A talented custom carpenter, a talent he passed on to his sons. Maurice enjoyed spending time with family and having a coffee on his back deck with his wife Pauline that overlooks the beauty and scenery of the Shuswap area that he loved so much. His favorite pastimes were singing and playing guitar with his siblings, son and grandson, looking at antique cars, going for a drive and stopping in for a morning coffee at the Balmoral Village Grocer to chat with the locals. His best days were spent with his grandchildren swimming, playfully cheating at cards for a good laugh, dominos and pool. He loved taking them out for ice cream, coffee and to parks.
A celebration of life is yet to be determined and may be announced at a later date.
