Maureen "Mo" Patricia (Kernaghan) Hucul

Born April 8, 1951 in Salmon Arm, passed away August 21, 2024 after a short battle with cancer at Shuswap Lake General Hospital.

Maureen “Mo” was the oldest of 5 kids born to Bill and Peggy Kernaghan. She attended all of her school years in Salmon Arm, graduating in 1969. After graduation she married and became a stay at home mom to her son Glenn.

Maureen’s out of the housework years started in 1995 when she went to work for Hunterline Trucking in the front office. She worked there until it closed down in 2002. After some job hunting for a few months, she started working at Canadian Tire where she stayed until her retirement in 2018. Maureen also volunteered for many years with the Rodeo and Fall Fair associations where she loved to be around animals and help people.

Maureen was predeceased by her mom Peggy in 2002, her dad Bill in 2007, and her sister Marj (Larry) in 2020. She is survived by her brothers John (Helena) of Salmon Arm, David of Squamish, Jim (Shirley) of Pemberton.  Son Glenn (Coralie) Salmon Arm. Grand daughters Alexi (Ian) of Brockville Ontario, Sarah and Alyssa of Salmon Arm, and great grandson Joel of Renfrew Ontario.

A celebration of life will be held at Bowers Funeral Home Saturday August 31 at 11:00 am.

In leu of flowers, donations to your local SPCA can be made in moms honour.
