It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Maureen Caroline on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Shuswap Lake General Hospital. The nursing staff at SLGH cared for her with great devotion, love and dignity; the family will be forever grateful. A very special Thank You to Dr. James Levins and the doctors of Salmon Arm Medical Clinic who helped Maureen through very difficult times over many years and up until the end.
Maureen was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. In her younger years, she worked as a buyer for Woolworths, an associate company to Marks & Spencer UK. Maureen often travelled worldwide on buying trips and was an expert in fabrics and style. She prided herself on her ability to spot new trends and rose in the company as a top buyer. She loved her work, her family and later, her grandchildren.
She and Jean immigrated to Canada in 2002 and settled in Salmon Arm to be closer to family. She will be remembered for her wicked sense of humour and always having a hidden treat for her grandchildren, grandnieces and nephew and baking her rusks and crunchies.
She is predeceased by her mother Muriel, her father William and a sister Cynthia. She is survived by her husband Jean, son Marc, daughter-in-law, Madeleine and grandchildren, Nicholas and William.
