Martha Prebble Obituary

A life well lived …

In 1924 Martha was born to Swiss immigrants in Raymore , Sask.

When she was 2 her family moved west to the Fraser Valley near Abbotsford (Sumas Prairie).

As a teenager she worked along side her mother housekeeping and preparing meals for the workers on a large dairy farm.

She met our Dad, George in Steveston B.C. and they were married at his family home on Lulu Island on April 10th,1943 .

In 1949 they moved to Blind Bay where they spent many happy years and were active in the community.

Mom enjoyed gardening , sewing and was known for her delicious meals, baking skills and many other accomplishments.

She and Dad took many fishing and camping trips and she once won a contest for the largest Northern Coho salmon caught near Campbell River.

In 2006 Mom moved into her new home in “ The Village” Salmon Arm where she met many new friends and special neighbours.

She enjoyed bowling , going out for lunch  and playing cards at the Shuswap Seniors Club.

In 2019 , she moved to Piccadilly Terrace  where she took part in many activities , enjoyed the great food and especially the wonderful staff .

She never wavered in her love, care and concern for her family and was a friend to everyone she knew throughout her entire life.

Martha is survived and dearly missed by her family :

Daughter Carol(Robert) Cuthbertson, Okotoks AB; Son Richard( Evelyn) Prebble, Blind Bay; Grand Daughter Melanie Prebble , Edmonton AB

Grandson Ryan (Melissa), Great Grandsons Lucas and Jaxon Prebble, Edmonton AB
