Marion Conron Obituary

Marion Conron of Salmon Arm passed away peacefully at Bastion Place, Salmon Arm on Monday, July 15, 2024. Marion was born in Toronto on Sep 23, 1920, and was soon to celebrate her 104th birthday. During her long and very healthy life she took great pleasure in her family's successes and stayed quite active in retirement. She loved her 80th birthday celebration in a hot air balloon ride and she was a member of the Club 55 Bowling league in Surrey (2004, at 84 years old). In her ’90’s she was a runway clothes model for a fashion store in the local mall. For her 100th party the challenge was to get 100 cards, she broke that record with 117 birthday cards.

Marion was married to Roy for 55 years until his passing. She lived in Toronto from birth until 1997 when she moved to Surrey, BC to be with her son and family. She spent a few years in “The Villa” independent living, then followed Peter to Salmon Arm in 2016 to Piccadilly Terrace independent living.

Marion was loved and will be deeply missed by her son, Peter (and wife Lou), daughters-in-law Sara, and Barbara. Grand children: Chelsea Fu (Jason), Sarah Thiessen (Jaydon), Lauri Conron (Harvey), David Conron (Elizabeth), Owen Conron (Laura). Further survived by loving great grandchildren - Maverick, Gunner, Raya, Everlee, Arden, Rory and one great great grandson, and grand and step nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by her son Paul Roy Conron, (2017) and by her husband of 55 years Roy Wilson Conron (1994).

Sometime during WW2 he penned the following to her:
My Beautiful Dream
When the lonely day is ended,
I come with a smile and a song.
Once again our souls will be blended,
And nothing on earth could be wrong.
All through the long day I’m yearning,
For the night when to you I’ll be returning.
Once again to caress you, adore you -
My beautiful dream come true.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to
Piccadilly Terrace, 810-10 St, S.W., Salmon Arm BC V1E 3L8

A Celebration of Life will be done at a later date.
Interment will take place in Mt Pleasant Cemetery,Toronto, next to her husband at a later date.
