Maria Fernanda Pimentel Armas
Maria came into this world on September 8, 1953 in a small village on the Island of Flores Azores, Portugal. From a young age Maria loved to run off and explore.
At the age of five she came to Canada with her mother and younger sister to join her father in Sicamous. Most of her childhood was spent in Sicamous. In 1967 when Maria was 13 she and her family spent the summer in the Azores. The family was able to reconnect with relatives.
Later Maria moved to Red Deer Alberta to work, where she met her first husband Archie, her and Archie were only together for a short time. She left Red Deer and moved to Golden BC where she met Ed Lucas, who worked for BC Hydro. They were married and moved to Duncan on Vancouver island then Prince George, then Mica Creek before settling in Revelstoke. Ed and Maria divorced.
She then met her third husband, Frank, who was a jeweller they opened up a jewellery shop, which was only open a few years. Later, Maria and Frank, divorced.
Maria visited Portugal twice and enjoyed her time there. She had always hated the cold and snow, so she was very happy to sell her house in Revelstoke and move to Salmon Arm. Where she bought an apartment. Unfortunately, she passed away before she could enjoy a life in Salmon Arm.
Maria leaves behind her sister Teresa Armas-Hadcock her nieces, Jennifer Creighton and Christina Legault, and great-niece Mira Creighton, and great-nephews Logan Legault, and Kylar Creighton Smith.
