She came to Canada from England with her family in 1925 to settle on a farm near Alix. She attended Alix School, and graduated as an R.N. from the Calgary General Hospital in 1945. She worked as an R.N. until 1949 when she married Melvin Robert Tarzwell. They farmed near Alix and raised four children. She also worked in the Bashaw Hospital. In 1965, they moved to Salmon Arm where she continued her nursing career. She was predeceased by her husband, two sisters, and two brothers. She is survived by her sons, Noel and Myron (Diane), and her daughters Joan (Clay) and Elaine (Michael).
