Linda Needham Obituary

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our mom, Linda Needham (nee Wallin) on June 10, 2025 at the age of 86. She was surrounded by love.

Mom was born in Kenora Ontario, moving west with her family. She settled in Revelstoke, where she would meet and soon marry Tom Needham. She attended Revelstoke Secondary School, where she was a member of the 1956 women's basketball team, the Mountainettes. Her height playing a helpful role in the team winning the Interior Juvenile League, bringing the cup back to Revelstoke, the first time in 30 years. She won and held the title of the 1957 Queen of the Snow.

Mom was caring, loving, and kind. She was a lover of Jube-Jubes and a great cup of coffee. Her family was her passion, and she loved and was at peace when spending time at the family cabin.

She was always involved in our activities throughout our youth and was very much the centre of our adult lives. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they were always top of mind.

She is predeceased by her loving husband Tom Needham, she has missed him terribly, her parents Gus and Della Wallin and sister Verna Dyer.

She is survived by her children, Derrick (Miranda), Heather (Colin) and Tammy (Wade). She is lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mom was in the care of Mount Cartier for several years, where she was loved for her quick-wit, laughter and friendship. It is with heartfelt gratitude that we thank Dr Kate McCarroll, all the staff and caregivers, for the tremendous care, love, and compassion they provided.

Thank you to all the volunteers, and we are so very grateful for the support and comfort provided by the Hospice staff.

               Thank you, Mom.......for everything.

Cremation has taken place, and the family will hold a private celebration of life.
