It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Leona passed away peacefully in the care of Mount Cartier Court on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the age of 91 years.
Leona was born on a farm in southern Saskatchewan on March 29, 1933, but grew up in Lumby, British Columbia. She married Johnnie Cadden in 1952, and they raised their three children in many communities around British Columbia, finally residing in Sicamous in 1970. Leona had a few jobs, but her joy was looking after others as a homecare health aid. Leona was a loving vibrant woman always on the go, they loved their travels to Arizona, many bus trips and a couple cruises.
Leona was predeceased by her loving husband John in 2018, her father and stepmother Ernest and Dorothey Fiset and mother, Irene Dubois, 3 brothers Floyd, George and Arthur Fiset as well as one sister Laura Burt.
Leona will be greatly missed by her son; Ron (Elaine) Cadden, daughters; Deveta (Mark) Roberts and Julie (Garry) Heal. Also left to cherish Leona's memory are her grandchildren; Tanya, Sean, Caralea, Kristel, Corrie, Bradley, Danielle and Laurel, great grandchildren; Taylor, Curtis, Matthew, Derek, Veronica, Jewelia, Jakob, Johnnie, Lauryn, Jaryn, Lachlan, Van and Rhode. As well as a loving sister May Muchowski and her sister in laws Sylvia and Anita Fiset.
Leona spent her last year in the loving care of the staff at Mount Cartier in Revelstoke where they will miss her sweet humorous personality.
