Kevin Lawryk, 61, left us suddenly when he suffered a heart attack doing what he loved: listening to music at a blues festival. He will be dearly missed by his wife Melinda and their two daughters, Rachel and Allison; and is also survived by a brother, Glenn (Liz).
Kevin was born in Hull, Quebec, and studied philosophy at the University of Ottawa. He moved to Calgary in the early 80’s. When his daughters were young, Kev was a stay-at-home dad. He spent much of his working life as a bartender at Bugaboo Creek and The Pig and Whistle Pub, and later joined Relamping Services, retiring in 2018.
Anyone who knew Kev knew of his lifelong love of music, particularly The Beatles, through both his conversation and his t-shirts. He was also an avid sports fan (the Raiders) and golfer.
A Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, September 12th 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Silver Springs Golf & Country Club, 1600 Varsity Estates Drive NW, Calgary.
