It is with immense sadness we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, father and uncle, Kenneth (Ken) Dean Muntak on December 17th, 2024.
Ken was born in Calgary, Alberta on November 25th, 1962. He spent his younger years living to his fullest, causing trouble with a smile.
His natural affinity with carpentry was one thing Ken was admired for, often gifting those he loved with masterfully crafted pieces, built with love by his own hands. He was an endlessly generous man with a heart of gold, always there at the drop of a hat to help anyone in need. His generosity was staggering, and his kindness will forever be remembered by his family and loved ones.
When he wasn’t spending time working on his woodworking masterpieces or rooting for his football team, the Calgary Stampeders, Ken loved nothing more than launching his boat and fishing for hours. It didn’t matter what body of water he found himself on, so long as he had his fishing rod and a few cold ones, he was set.
Although living in Calgary a majority of his life, his heart longed for the mountains and lakes of BC.
Finally, in 2024, his dreams came true as he relocated from the big city to his new home in Enderby, BC.
Ken loved to joke and bring laughter with his bright personality. His laugh could fill a room and was infectious to those around him, often leaving himself and others in tears of joy. Always a source of delight and happiness, time spent with Ken could be memorable for the slightest (and silliest) reasons. He will be remembered in the miniatures he loved to collect, in the time on the water he loved to spend, in the cheers of the football fans, in the meticulous perfection found in craftsmanship, and in the hearts of those who loved him deeply.
He’s predeceased by his beloved father, Bill Muntak, and survived by his remaining family: Karen Muntak (Mother), Brian Muntak (Brother), Lisa Muntak (Sister), Paul Muntak (Brother), Ashley Sweeney (Neice) and Nicole Van Oyen (Daughter).
Ken’s bright light is a loss to this world, but he will be forever remembered as the kind-hearted, generous, fun-loving, talented, incredible man he was to those whose lives he touched.
There will be no service, by request. Instead, if you feel inclined to honour Ken’s life and legacy, you can donate to one of his supported charities in his name: Big Brothers Canada, Ronald McDonald House, the Humane Society, Mustard Seed or your local Women’s Shelter. His generous nature was an incredible part of him, and we too would like to continue following in his footsteps.
