Kelly Johnson passed away at Shuswap Lake General Hospital on July 10, 2026, at age 51 yrs.
Kelly was born in Hinton Alberta on November 23, 1974. He came to the Salmon Arm area in 1978 with his parents and brother. His mom and dad bought Sky Blue Waters Campground in Tappen where he enjoyed many summers swimming, water skiing, fishing, and spending time with family and the many friends he made there. It was during this time that he developed a passion for music, in particular the later years, especially playing his guitar around a campfire.
He started school at Carlin Elementary, then progressed into Jackson Junior High School, graduating from Salmon Arm Secondary. He went on to work various jobs within the Salmon Arm area, then moved to Kelowna for a short period, moving back to Salmon Arm where he resided until his passing.
Kelly lived on his own terms, and in the moment. His love for his family, extended family and many friends was evident while always holding a special place in his heart for his niece and nephew. He will be missed by so many.
Kelly is survived by his father Randy Johnson, his mother Trudy (Don) Simpson, brother Mike (Sheeghan) Johnson, niece Meghan (Dustin) Kennedy and nephew Chace Johnson, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to a charity that is special to your heart.
Thank you, the Johnson family.
“I’ll see you in every eagle and every star I see”
