Julie Stuart Obituary

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Julie Stuart on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021, after a long battle with MS. She leaves to mourn her loss, husband; John Stuart, daughters; Carmen Laws (Scott) and Aimie Laws. Granddaughters; Jenna, Jayden and Jessie and grandson; Jason. Her mother Cheryl Kennedy (Joe), sisters; Dana Balt (Dwight), Chris Verberg (Jack), Gina Cherbo and brother; Ronald Blackburn (Nicole). Nieces and nephews, stepsons; Trevor Stuart (Emma) and Dan Stuart.

She was predeceased by her father Richard Cherbo, in 2016, father-in-law; Dave Stuart in 2015 and mother-in-law; Sandy Stuart in 2019.

She was the Vernon New Years baby the year she was born in Vernon, BC.

The family moved to Sicamous when she was little and lived there till she was 11 years old. The family moved to Salmon Arm in 1971 where she went to school and had many friends.

She married Don Laws and had Carmen and Aimie. Julie had a witty sense of humor and a spirit of adventure.

She later married John Stuart and entered a new phase in her life. She loved her family dearly and was very protective of them.

Julie worked at the Royal Bank for 18 years then Investors Group, Community Futures and Petro Can.

She spent many happy years with her husband, John, and the family, camping at the Stuart cabin on Machette Lake.

Often the whole Stuart family would be there, and a good time was had by all. Julie loved being on the lake with John, fishing and later cooking over an open campfire, playing cards in the evening, and of course a few drinks.

She spent the last few years at Bastion as her MS had progressed. She was taken care of by the dedicated team of nurses and aides, and Dr. Marten.

If you would like to make a donation in memory of Julie, please consider the MS society.

There will be a family gathering at a later time to have a celebration of life.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
