Joyce Crosby

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother and grandmother, Joyce Crosby on November 6, 2021, at Mt. Cartier Court in Revelstoke BC. There will be no formal funeral service by Joyce’s own request.

Joyce was born on June 27, 1932, in Revelstoke BC.   After living in various locations in British Columbia she moved back to Revelstoke in her senior years. 

Joyce was predeceased by her parents Tora and Thurston Rudd, her husband Don Crosby, her sister Beverly Wood and two sons Terry Crosby and Bruce Crosby.  Joyce was also sadly predeceased by her grandson Thurston James (TJ) Crosby.  She is survived by her son David Crosby (Sandy) and daughter Sheila Crosby, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by extended family in Revelstoke who supported her in these final years.

Joyce loved children and always had time for a slow walk looking at leaves and bugs with her children and grandchildren.  She understood the most important thing children need is patience and love.   Joyce was an avid reader and storyteller. She enjoyed sharing the family history and had a great memory for details.  She developed pictures and in doing this preserved many photos that might have been lost over time.

Joyce was a kind soul who touched may lives during her lifetime.  She will be missed for her quick wit and intelligent conversations about a wide range of topics.
