Joseph Eustache Edward Poirier of Vernon, BC, was born in Cold Lake, Alberta, on November 22, 1931. He passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on February 26, 2025, in Salmon Arm, BC with his loving Granddaughter Tammy by his side.
Fondly known as “Backhoe Eddy” during his decades of operating his beloved backhoe. Very well known for his innate ability to operate his backhoe in ways that defy logic.
Joseph was predeceased by his mother, Mary Alfreda Leona Compagner, his father, Joseph Alvia Eustache Poirier, his wives, Florence and Lucy, his sons, Lawrence and Michael, and his sisters, Rose, O’neil, Jeannine, Therese, Hilda, and Roseanna.
He is survived by his brothers, Denis, Normand, Phillipe, and Leonard; his sisters, Dennise and Bella; his son, Victor; his daughter, Roseanne, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dedicated Father, husband, and a true family man, his legacy lives on through his family and the countless memories they shared with Edward, a man whose life was full of love, laughter, and unwavering determination. He always had a smile on his face and a funny little chuckle that endeared him to all who knew him.
A funeral service for family and friends will be held Friday April 11th, 2025 at St. James Catholic Church, (2607 27th Street, Vernon, BC) with a Celebration of Life at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home (4303 Pleasant Valley Rd, Vernon) at 11am.
