John Edward Popplewell

John was born and raised in Revelstoke, graduating from Revelstoke Secondary School in 1982. John was hired on with the CPR upon graduation and had a 36-year career working maintenance of way. John said the job was always interesting with something new every day. The last 15 years of John's career was spent operating the snowplow in winter, a job he just loved.

John is pre-deceased by parents Gerald and Edith Popplewell, brother Brian and sisters Diane and Barbara.

John is survived by his wife Patti, dog Stella, brother Judd (Carolyn), niece Kirstin (Shawn), and grandnephews Jack and Carter.

At John's request, there will be no formal funeral. Interment will take place at a later date at Solsqua Sicamous Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Shuswap Lake General Hospital and the Oncology Department.
