Jim Adair

Jim was born in Turner Valley, Alberta the youngest of seven children. Jim was predeceased by his father (Archie), his mother (Mable Susan (nee Winfield)), siblings Hubert, Margaret, Delbert, Berna (Bradco), Tilton and Greta (Pryor).

Jim was a long time resident of Salmon Arm, arriving in his youth with his mother in 1953. With only intermittent absences from Salmon Arm, for work, he settled with his young wife Joan in December of 1957. In 1962 they purchased an old house on a 10 acre parcel at the corner of Hillcrest and Rifle Range Road (20th & 20th SE) where they raised their 2 daughters until he moved his family into the log home he built on the property in 1976. They later had a third home built on the property where they resided until moving to Piccadilly Terrace in January 2013 and finally to Penticton in March 2016.

Jim was known to many as a surveyor, an Elk, a volunteer fireman, a mill owner/operator, a tire shop owner/operator and a truck & school bus driver. Jim was an avid fisherman and loyal and true husband, father and friend.

Jim passed away peacefully at his home in Penticton surrounded by his wife, his 2 daughter and 2 sons-in-law. Jim is survived by Joan (nee Lumsden), his wife of 62 years, his daughters, Pauline (Christopher) Walker and Linda (Michael) Schulz, his grandsons Terence and Joshua Wiege and great grandchildren Jaden, Xzander, Logan, Sadie, Leonidas, Kimberly and Spartacus.
