Janna Helena was born on May 6th, 1936 in Ellemeet, Zeeland. Janna, known as Jenny was 14 years old when her parent decided to immigrate to Canada. It was on May 12th, 1950 that the family arrived in Canada. They settled in Coaldale, Alberta and it was here that the family spent time working in the sugar beets.
In 1956, the Boots moved to Rocky Mountain House and Jenny began working in the hospital, as a nurse’s aide.
On December 4th, 1958, Jenny married the love of her life, Albertus OpdenDries. They made a move again, as a family in 1965 to Langley, BC.
Albertus and Jenny were blessed with 5 children, Nancy, Dennis, Tony, Cynthia and Mark. Over the course of time, all of the children were married and grandchildren and some years later greatgrandchildren were added to the family.
In October of 2007, Albertus and Jenny moved to Vernon, where they found their last resting place. In December, 2015 Jenny’s dear husband passed away. Jenny lived on her own, as a widow and then in the summer of 2021, she became very ill. In time we learned that Jenny had developed stage 4 cancer. She spent a number of weeks in the Vernon Jubilee hospital and then about 1 week in hospice. The Lord called our beautiful Jenny into His loving arms in heaven, on Thursday, November 4th, 2021.
Jenny will be deeply missed, as she was truly loved by all those left behind. She will be remembered for having a quiet and gentle servant heart. She loved her family with an unconditional love. When reading Proverbs 31, you are reading about Jenny, for she is and always will definitely be worth far more than rubies.
