Jeanette Lorraine Christiansen passed away suddenly at home in the early hours of June 19 2025, in the arms of her lifelong love, Rik.
Born August 2, 1950 in Vancouver to Frank and Janet Stohl, Jeanette and her sisters grew up in Burnaby. She met Rik in high school and they were married in the summer of 1969.
She loved baking, cooking, camping, decorating, gardening and spending time with her loved ones. Her homemade bread and raspberry jam were legendary.
She is survived by her husband Rik, her sisters Lynda (Kurt) and Kathy (Doug), her children, Kim, Amy (Sean), Jeremy (Sherry), her grandchildren Owen (Kaitlin), Kate (Dayhlon), and her great grandchildren Maeve, Hazel and Haven.
During her life she travelled to many places like Costa Rica, Hawaii and the Cook Islands, and along the way fell in love with Tahitian and hula dance. She was an avid and excellent gardener and spent years treating life in the suburbs like she was homesteading, canning jams and fruits, churning butter and baking bread.
Her biggest love of all was her family. She would always take the time to share some wisdom or a cup of tea, and was always there to lend an ear, commiserate through the tough times and celebrate the good.
Her beautiful smile, warm laughter and strong hugs will be missed by us all. A private celebration of life is planned at Bowers Funeral Service in Salmon Arm.
