Jean Lily Madlung

Jean Lily Madlung, born January 23, 1937, in Alder Flats, Alberta, passed away peacefully
on August 27, 2026, at Salmon Arm Hospital after a short illness.

Jean is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Henry Madlung; their children, Dan
(Brenda) Madlung, Julie Lang, Craig (Carol) Madlung, and Thom (Kim) Madlung; as well as
nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Jean and Henry moved from Whitecourt, Ab to Revelstoke, BC in 1964 where she worked as
a Waitress and at the hospital before following her dream and opened a fabric store on
Main Street. They moved to Salmon Arm in 2016.

Jean loved to sew, garden, knit, read and most of all, talk with people. Wherever there was
a gathering Jean could be found. These gatherings often included large family get-togethers
for any occasion. There was always lots of food and sometimes her famous cinnamon
buns.

Jean was always cheerful and up for any adventure. Meeting with her friends every Tuesday
morning was a highlight that she would never miss.

A private family gathering will be held later.

Jean will be remembered with love by her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the
hearts of all who knew and loved her
