Janine Marie Smith

It is with heavy hearts we mourn the passing of Janine Marie Smith who sadly left this world on May 31, 2025 at the age of 44.

Janine embraced life with an adventurous spirit. Most of her adult life was spent travelling the world, meeting new people, many becoming lifelong friends. She taught herself and became fluent in Spanish, wanting to connect deeply with the people she encountered, immersing herself fully in each culture she visited. Her journeys took her to places most only dream of, while approaching every destination with an open heart and boundless curiosity.

Janine's smile and laughter was infectious. She loved to be around her family and friends sharing stories, playing games or just enjoying the company of the ones she loved most.

Janine will be forever missed by her Mom; Jane (Jason) and Dad; Murray (Shelley), her Sisters; Melissa (Arnold), Megan (Mike), her beautiful niece and nephew; Zoey and Benson, her Gramma; Iris, Uncles; Darren, Sheldon and Barry, Great-Uncle; David, Aunts; Loraine, Marie and Michelle, Great-Aunt; Creva, cousins and her dear friends.

Janine is predeceased by her Grandfather Herbert Schmidt and Grandparents Jim & Clara Smith.

Janine's family would like to thank all the family, friends and neighbours for the outpouring love, support, gifts, flowers and the meals provided for us. Also thank you to Roberta for her compassion, guidance and support.

A Celebration of Life will be held June 28, 2025 @ 2pm in the Selkirk Room at the 112 Regent Hotel.
