Janice Marie Isaac (Jantz), my dear wife, our loving mom & grandma peacefully passed away on November 6, 2024, surrounded by a circle of loved ones. Dad felt privileged to be able to care for her at home until the end. She bravely fought the cancer battle since she was first diagnosed in 2007, but God saw that she was tired and took her home. Through her sickness, she maintained a very positive attitude and we would often hear her say, “I’m fine, I’m fine, perfectly fine.” Now she truly is.
Mom was born on July 24, 1943, to Elmer & Viola Jantz in Merced, California. She had four older and four younger siblings, making her the middle child. Mom enjoyed a happy childhood with them. She loved school, graduating from high school in 1961.
Mom was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on January 31, 1957, by Min. Edward Jantz. She stayed faithful to her vows until the end.
Her youth life was fulfilling and enjoyable, spending 7 months at the mission in Salina Springs, Arizona; working at several different businesses; and traveling with her friends. It was on a trip to Kansas that she met Dad while he was there in the US for service.
On May 14, 1967, Janice was married to me, Robert Isaac, by Min. Johnny Jantz in Winton, California. He made a mistake with the vows and asked my wife if she would provide and care for me. In the first few years of our marriage, she did provide for us, working while I finished my nursing schooling in Calgary. We then moved to Linden, where God blessed our home with 2 daughters. After living in Alberta for 5 years, we moved to California. We later spent some years as missionaries in Nigeria and the Philippines. In September 2022, we moved to Enderby to be close to our children.
“Whither thou goest, I will go” took on a whole new meaning in Mom’s life. Her love for Dad was obvious as she supported and followed him in his many adventures and business ventures. Dad promised Mom when they got married that they would never be wealthy, but she would never be bored.
Her family was extremely important to her, and she was so thankful when all her children and grandchildren made the decision to follow Jesus.
Mom was a gracious & warm person who had a special way of making everyone feel like a friend. She will be missed by many.
Left with aching hearts are her husband, Robert; her children: Cynthia & Randal Reimer of Enderby, BC; Jacqueline & Tony Baerg of Quesnel, BC; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn & Eric Wiebe with Lilia of Enderby, BC; Nicole & Cameron Thiessen with Cadence of Sinclair, MB; Karalee & Austin Friesen of Whitemouth, MB; Janae Reimer of Enderby, BC; Kaylee Baerg of Quesnel, BC ; Carlyn Baerg of Quesnel BC. Also left with fond memories are 2 brothers and 5 sisters: Yvonne Schmidt, Cleo & Twila Jantz, Valeda & Oroville Koehn, Clayton & Judy Jantz, Patricia Warkentin, Roberta & Fred Hightower, Mary-Jo & Gary Schmidt; 2 sisters-in-law: Violet Isaac, Ruby & John Hendrickson; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Gone on before her are her parents, parents-in-law, her dear sister Sharon, and 4 brothers-in-law.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. in the Church of God in Christ, 34 Gardom Lake Road, Columbia-Shuswap, Subd. C, B.C., V0E 1V3. Interment and fellowship will follow.
