The family of James F. Davidson would like to inform his friends that on Saturday Feb. 28, 2026, on his mother's birthday, Jim took the next step on his Journey of Life.
Born to William and Anna Davidson on October 11,1940, Jim often joked that he was born in the Old Folks Home, which used to be the Penticton Hospital. At the end of WWII, when his father returned from Europe, the family moved to VLA land in Cawston BC and started an orchard. This loving, devout family welcomed Jim's sister Corinne several years later.
In 1959 Jim moved to Banff AB to join the Imperial Bank of Canada. There he met Valerie Violini. They married January 6th, 1962. Jim's special talent for balancing Ledgers lead to twelve (12!) transfers around Southern Alberta during the first six years of their marriage. His children were approaching school age when a large American Corporation recruited Jim to take over the Finances of their Penticton manufacturing operation. He packed up his family and returned to the Okanagan.
Jim's life had it's challenges. When the Corporation demanded that he lie in court he refused and was fired. Jim's faith held strong, he remained calm and a settlement followed. When another Manufacturer recruited him he moved his family to Agassiz BC. He became the CFO and their exuberant life style continued: fine dining, civic engagement, golf, Corporate funded international travel and disco. It was the '70's.
In the 80's several tragedies disrupted his family's lives. A faith-filled three years of discernment followed. Jim and Valerie were lead to Parson BC and began the second half of their married life. Jim returned to his rural roots and they designed and built an eco- friendly house. Jim also worked several summers as a Parks Canada employee in Radium BC. The Golden HRB Franchise was his next adventure.
Loved and fondly remembered by many, Jim is survived by: his wife of 64 years, Valerie; his children Lawrence (Eiko) and Gina (Mark); his precious granddaughters, Anna-Marie (Barnabas), Janelle, Hannah, and Kimmie; and his sister Corinne (Ken).
We joyously remember this kind and gracious man who gazed upon our spectacular mountain views and said that which sang in his heart: “We are so blessed!”
Jim is His Father's Son. (John 1;12); a Gentle-man.
