James Tamura Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of James Kazuho Tamura on July 3, 2026 at his home in Revelstoke.

He was predeceased by his parents Shizuko and Hideho, and brother Yutaka Tamura. He is survived by his sisters June Kimiko Kimura and Akiko Szekely along with his many nieces and nephews.

James was born October 16, 1946 in Kochi-ken, Japan and resided in Revelstoke for many years. James was a proud member of the Labourers Union for the past 40 years and did various jobs at sites all around British Columbia. James is remembered fondly by his grand nieces and grand nephews for his generosity in funding a trip to his birth place in Japan. James loved his companion dog Fluffy and many adorned his loyalty.  He enjoyed being a helpful neighbor as he had a big heart. He was very meticulous and liked gardening to keep his yard looking immaculate. James enjoyed travelling and visited Japan and Mexico.

The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness, support and generosity to all the people that helped James throughout his life.

He will be missed.

Please join the family on July 28th 2026 at noon for a funeral service and tea follow.
