I.J. "Bud" Clark Obituary

It is with great sadness we share the news of the passing of our Dad, Bud Clark.  The world lost our “hero”, and one of the last “true gentlemen” we have been blessed to know.

Dad was born in Bangor, Saskatchewan.  He moved to Kamloops in 1942, where he went to work at the dairy at Tranquille Farm.  After serving in the Navy Dad joined CN Rail, working his way up the ranks to Conductor and Instructor.  He retired in 1981 after 37 Years.

Dad spent his adult life in the Kamloops and Shuswap area.  He is predeceased by the love of his life Iris, infant daughter Zelda, grandsons’ Matthew and Lucas Hauer.  Dad is survived by daughters Karen (Cliff), Aila (Lynne), Gloria (David). Grandsons’ Chris (Deidre), Jason, Ryan (Ally), great grandchildren, James, Trevor, Megan, Annabelle, Jackson, Jocelyn and Helena.  Granddaughter of his heart, Angela.

Mom and Dad married in 1948, making their homes in Kamloops, Sorrento and Salmon Arm.  Raising their family with lots of love and tons of fun.  Boating, waterskiing, Mom’s cooking among some of the highlights.

Dad was a superb woodworker.  Building houses, furniture, water skis, toys, clocks, as well as numerous re-finishing and repair projects.  Dad also loved the garden.  He could be found there just about any time he wasn’t in the boat pulling skiers.  Dad continued gardening at Andover Terrace in Salmon Arm and was planning the flowers and veggies he wanted for this year, only a week before he passed.

Dad celebrated his 100th Birthday last September.  Many family and friends joined in the happy occasion with many, many, cards and calls from those who could not attend.  Dad was also given a special 100th year award by his friends at CN.  Dad had a super day visiting and catching up with so many people.

Thank you to all past and present Andover Terrace staff.  You helped create and contribute to a wonderful home for Mom and Dad these last ten years.  Special thanks to Kevin Goldberg for keeping Dad healthy and happy to the end.  Thank you also to Bowers staff for your kindness and caring for Dad and us at this heartbreaking time.

Dad will be missed by all who knew him.  From the twinkle in his eye, his bright smile, genuine laugh, and kind, gentle and wise spirit.  Dad was one of the “Best.”

Loved forever, never forgotten, always in our hearts, love you Dad, xoxxoxo.
