Hugh Pryhitko Obituary

Hugh Pryhitko passed away on January 6th, 2021, at the age of 89 years. Hugh was born at Mount Cartier, B.C., on October 18, 1931, moving into Revelstoke in 1951 to the family home on Moss Street. He was stoic, steadfast and dependable, with a quiet, friendly character that put all who met him at ease. Those who knew him will miss his charismatic, engaging smile. Some of Hugh's favourite pastimes were curling, being out on his boat fishing and taking in the local Grizzlies games. He was an avid gardener and the envy of his neighbourhood with his bountiful crops.

Hugh was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, where he enjoyed socializing with friends.

Hugh was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Annie, brother Alfred, sister-in-law Doris, niece Marie Martiniuk, great-niece Laura Martiniuk, and great-nephew Allan Martiniuk. Hugh will be lovingly remembered by his two nieces, Valerie (Allan) Armstrong and Julie Pryhitko, both of Red Deer, Alberta, his nephew-in-law Pete Martiniuk of Salmon Arm; great-nieces and nephews, Beckie (Jason) Campbell of Kamloops, Steven (Adina) Armstrong of Red Deer, Cristina (Sean) Stewart of Red Deer, Robert Armstrong of Red Deer and Kevin (Dannielle) Armstrong of Red Deer; great-great-nieces and nephews: Noah Babak, Hailey Campbell, Corlyn Armstrong, Kieran Armstrong, Audrey Stewart and Geneva Stewart.

At his request, there will be no formal funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
